BOOK WEEK - Monday 27th February to Friday 3rd March
Book Week is the week beginning Monday 27th February – Friday 3rd March. We have a number of events planned to celebrate this week:
On Wednesday 1st March we are holding a Books for Breakfast morning from 8.15-8.45am. You are invited to come in to school and share a book with your child or children. At the same time you can enjoy a croissant and cup of coffee. We will not charge for this event but will ask you to make a donation towards costs. There will be a selection of books in the hall but of course it will be a super opportunity to enjoy a book your child is currently enjoying. Please join us if you can! Please go to our on line booking system and book your places – we would love to know who is coming so we can cater for everyone. Thank you . Book now!
Also on Wednesday 1st March classes 1-6 will hold a book swap. Children may bring a book into school that they have recently read and no longer want. The book is to be in good condition and appropriate for the age of the class. Children who have brought a book in may then swap it with a different book if they wish.
On Thursday 2nd March, World Book Day, the children will be able to enjoy reading in a space or classroom of their choice.
On Friday 3rd March we will end the week with a Book Character Day. We would like the children to dress up as characters from a book and bring the book into school too. (As a school we always try to have non uniform days on a Friday or Monday to make managing clean school uniform easier for parents) It is promising to be a super week where we celebrate and enjoy reading across the school.
